These functional structures, often cold and impersonal, bear witness to the activities to which they are devoted and to the way that they have been organized to make things faster for their users. This method of highlighting the forms that mould the urban space raises the question of the very reason for their existence. We can imagine users coming and going in every direction, rushed, wanting to go faster but trapped in the discomfort of these structures, which are both seductive and unpleasant. Matthias Hoch lives and works in Leipzig, Germany. He began studying photography at University of Essen, and continued in Leipzig and London. He has had numerous solo exhibitions in Germany, Great Britain, France, and the United States. Hoch has also had works in more than thirty group exhibitions in both Europe and the United States.
